I have tried my very best to make the villains in my stories actual villains, and make sure they provide actual opposition in word and deed to their opponents. Because, to paraphrase G.K. Chesterton, they exist both to show that there are people in the world who don't give a fuck about anyone else, and that they can be defeated.

Please forgive me, but I can’t help but think this article is a bit hypocritical. When those satanists cut the baby out of the pregnant woman and kill it in THE NIGHT STOCKERS,it seemed like they could have slowly dismembered it to prolong its suffering. But no, those soft-ass satanic pussies gave it a quick death. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt that it was Harding’s sentimentality that wokened the Satanists.

I couldn’t agree more! I read Mr. Mercedes by Stephen King and someone threw a fit about the language the villain used, fat shaming, and being just a hateful piece of trash. I told her to look at who she’s talking about, the character and not the author. Brady is an evil man, a villain. That’s how he thinks because he’s the bad guy. I never thought I’d have to break things down so simply to someone.
